Sharing becomes the core of many restaurant concepts

Eating is a social event. And very communicative. So please, leave your smartphones at home. Remember eating at your grandmas‘? Why not putting all plates on the table and let people have fun sharing?

You do not need a main dish.

Entrée, main dish and dessert. Boring. But this is the way we learned building restaurants. Maybe the time is right to change this habit. Maybe the time has come to let the customer decide more. What dish should be entrée, main or dessert? This implies that all portions would need to have the same size. You just have to write your menu differently.

Digital detox. One of the main future topics.

There is a small movement of restaurants and bars which prohibit the use of smartphones in the venue. Some even use interfering transmitters. Especially when gathering with friends, it should be a no go to check your mobile all the time. In the example below, the travel agent collects all smartphones when beginning the trip — to help travellers maintain the focus on nature and travel highlights.

Basically all menus are set up the same way: entrée, main dish and dessert. Category names differ from country to country but this is the way we learned to eat in restaurants. The size of portions follows the same logic: entrée and dessert are smaller than the main dish. Maybe it is time to change this habit. Maybe it is time to let the customer choose, what dish should be entrée, main or dessert. This implies that all portions would need to have the same size and you do have to write your menu differently. Said and done.

There is a small movement of restaurants and bars, which prohibit the use of smartphones in the venue. Some use interfering transmitters. People get distracted really quick and loose awareness. Especially when gathering with friends it should be a no go to watch the smart gadgets all the time. How can you experience something together if you live in a second reality the same time? Besides this being one of the main topics the next years, I reckon that we should focus on one thing a time. We need to be conscious that with all the convenience of smart tools they also distract us. In the example below the travel agent collects all smartphones when beginning the trip to help travellers maintain the focus on nature and travel highlights.

Mammals are cooperating social creatures hence humans are too. Being together is good, being alone makes lonely. So far the brief biological background. Because the world is turning and changing fast and we are stressed a lot we need more of human socializing. So meeting, cooking together and eating together has a lot of proven benefits. Set up big tables and invite people. Have a great time together and you will feel better. If you have a small circle of friends you can simply use an app to make new friends. And we do not talk about dating apps. Brave new world.
